In a recent sleep study, volunteers who got 6 hours of sleep a night for 2 weeks were just as impaired as people who had been forced to stay awake for 2 days straight, even though the subjects only reported a "slight increase" in feeling tired. 

Not only did their cognitive functioning decrease but their appetite and risk for being overweight and developing diabetes all increased. The way to fix it all? The University of Chicago study showed that getting "10 hours [of sleep] for two consecutive nights returned the hormones to normal levels and lowered hunger and appetite …

According to a study conducted by email software purveyor Xobni, 72% of Americans check their email during their time off, including sick days and vacations. Not only that, but 26% are overwhelmed by the number of emails they receive while on holiday.
