There are so many reasons we love Portland: its easy access to the great outdoors, amazing restaurants, and fantastic dive bars, donuts, and karaoke opportunities. 

Now this unique city in the Pacific Northwest has one more amenity, one that's perfectly indicative of its local, sustainable ethos, we might add. It's a babysitting service for chickens, and urban farmers are gobbling it up. Just Us Hens was created for people who have live poultry and want someone to tend to their flock when they go on holiday. It's also supposedly the world's first chicken sitting company (you think?) though we're pretty sure it won't be long before something similar pops up in Brooklyn.
