June 03, 2009
We use tons of online tools to find the most competitive travel deals on the Internet. Then we hand pick the very best specials for our favorite people: New Yorkers.

Our favorite finds? Great global airfare deals to everywhere from Brazil to India, and some ah-mazing deals in a recovering Mexico.

Note: As always, all our quoted airfare is for roundtrip, nonstop flights with all taxes and fees included, unless otherwise noted.

Airfare

Great Global Airfare Deals: [via CheapoAir] From now through August 14th, find amazingly low deals to destinations all over the world with the help of CheapoAir. We recently found flights (all with short layovers) to Paris, France for $571; Sao Paulo, Brazil for $530; Delhi, India for $580; Sydney, Australia for $577; and Kingston, Jamaica for a meager $175! Click here to read more and to search for these and a ton of other far-flung destinations.

Bermuda Blowout: [via AirfareWatchdog] Fly nonstop to Bermuda on the cheap. In June and July flights are as little as $305, and in August and September they dip to $292. Pick a flight with a short layover if you want to shave off another $10-15. Click here for more details and to see prices for all summer dates.

Hotels

Nice (and Discounted) Digs in Nevis: [via Concierge.com] From now through August 16, stay for 7 nights at the Nisbet Plantation Beach Club on the island of Nevis, but pay for only 5 - that's a savings of $876, or 29%! Included in this deal is private water-taxi transportation to and from the airport on neighboring St. Kitts, along with breakfast, tea, and either lunch or dinner daily. The casually elegant resort has a great house dating back to 1778 (impeccably refinished, of course), and boasts 36 luxurious cottages strewn about its 30 acres. The Nisbet describes itself as "not an ultra-fancy or opulent Caribbean resort, but a private, intimate one where you can relax on the beach, enjoy gourmet dining and be attended to by perhaps the finest staff of any Caribbean hotel." Sounds good to us! But if you're not convinced, take note: the Nisbet has won 13 awards in the last 5 years, including a AAA 4 Diamond status in 2007 and a "World's Best Places to Stay" on the 2008 Conde Nast Traveler Gold List. It was also named Best Luxury Hotel in the Caribbean in the 2008 Trip Advisor Traveler's Choice Awards - see why here.

Mid-Week Cape Cod Jaunt: [via Frommer's] Able to travel during the week this month? Think about heading to The Beach Rose Inn in West Falmouth, Cape Cod. From now through June 19th, stay one mid-week night at a rate of $150 and get the next night for free! This intimate 8 room inn dates back to 1863, and offers home-cooked breakfast (changed daily), a hot tub under the stars, and a serene spa room. The Beach Rose also has an unbeatable location, just a stone's throw from the beach, whale-watching tours, tennis, antiquing and historic lighthouses. Makes for the perfect East coast beach getaway, with cheap ferry trips to Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket to boot! Click here to learn more.

Half Off Award-Winning Hotel in Naples, Florida: [via TravelZoo] While we don't normally recommend Florida resorts to jauntsetters, this getaway has "easy," "mindless," and "affordable splurge" written all over it. From now through September, stay at one of Florida's most luxurious hotels for 50% off. La Playa Resort offers "comfortable, casual elegance" in their guest rooms, most of which open right onto the beach. These rooms are airy, with an  indoor-outdoor design including big French doors and windows, lots of warm golds and greens, and delicate butterfly netting over the beds (so you can fall asleep listening to the waves). There's also award-winning BALEEN restaurant (touted as one of the best restaurants in the southeast) on site, the rejuvinating SpaTerre, and a golf course designed by world-renowned course architect Bob Cupp (if you're into that sort of thing). Sound good? Then hurry up and book - this deal is only valid through June 5th.

A D.C. Favorite for Less: [via TabletHotels] We love the Donovan House hotel in Washington D.C. - it was our #1 Pick in our D.C. issue back in April. (Bonus: the rooftop pool and bar are now open, just in time for Summer!) So we're delighted to find - with the help of the wonderful Tablet Hotels - this deal saving guests $270 off regular rates. Tablet Hotels Last Minute Deals is offering rooms at the Donovan for as little as $129 - read more about the hotel here, and then book with Tablet.

Oceanfront Steal on Vancouver Island: [via TravelZoo] Through July 3rd, stay at the Tigh-Na-Mara Seaside Spa Resort on Vancouver Island, 22 lush acres of forest along the shoreline of the warmest ocean waters in Canada. Rooms usually go for $239, but if you book by June 8, stay for just $99 on weekdays and $109 on the weekends. As an extra little perk, receive a $15 spa credit and a $5 breakfast coupon. Each luxury log cabin (real logs!) comes with a private patio, jetted tub, a gas fireplace (okay, it's summer, but fireplaces still make us feel grand), and direct beach access. The views from every cabin, as well as the three restaurants (tapas, fine dining, and a lounge) and the Grotto Spa, are incredible - you are cozily tucked between vast woodlands and vast ocean. Click here to read more about this deal, or book directly through the hotel (make sure to mention TravelZoo). A jauntsetter tip - ask about suites, which are also discounted this month.

Dirt Cheap Deals from the Riviera Maya: [via Travel+Leisure] As hypochondriacs, we're going to go out on a limb here: the Swine Flu scare has settled down considerably, and we're dreaming of a getaway South of the Border. Beaches are practically deserted, and staff at hotels couldn't be happier to see you. But best yet, once-cheap deals in Mexico are more affordable than ever. Of all the price-slashings, we found these two - both offered by the gorgeous Tides Riviera Maya resort in Playa del Carmen - to be the most impressive. Planning a bachelorette party? A double couple or friends and family trip? From now through September 30th, reserve one Luxury or Royal Villa, and get the second villa free. This is not a joke! Read more here, or reserve directly through the hotel. Rather keep the vacation to yourself? Then fly for free! The Tides will reimburse your ticket fare, up to $500 dollars with the rental of a Royal Villa and $1000 dollars with the rental of the Tides Villa. Not too shabby! Reserve here. Like the sound of these deals? Read more of what the Tides has to offer on their specials page.
