The Top 10 Flight Deals of the Week
To book some the unadvertised deals we mention below, head over to Kayak or Orbitz, and choose your preferred dates of travel; when you do, make sure you choose flexible travel dates - you'll get a matrix with a range of dates and the lowest prices possible for each fare.
Stateside
- Domestic Deals: (via Travelzoo) American Airlines is having a major sale on flights to and from New York City for travel between January 26th and March 10th. For the best fares, head over to AA and search for travel with flexible dates - our favorite find was Miami for $184 in early March. Book by January 21st.
- Austin for an Awesome Price: (via AirfareWatchdog) Can you fly on a Tuesday or a Wednesday? Then you're in luck - Continental has flights priced as low as $218 to one of our favorite Texan escapes for travel through March 24th. If your dates are flexible, use Kayak to find the lowest fares for travel.
- Get to the West Coast with Virgin America: Between now and March 10th, Virgin America is offering big savings on flights to San Francisco, Los Angeles and Las Vegas. With a 7-day advance purchase, fly for as little as $218 for roundtrip, nonstop flights. Make sure to book by January 18th. Get your tickets here.
Caribbean
- Bermuda Bargain: (via AirfareWatchdog) Fly Continental to Bermuda for just $312. Search Kayak using "flexible dates" to find this low fare on limited dates this winter, and find yourself in the warm Caribbean sun just a couple of hours after you depart from Newark.
- Air Jamaica Sale: (via T+L Hot Deals) Air Jamaica has nonstop flights to Montego Bay and Kingston for as little as $296 between now and February 28th. Just make sure you book by tomorrow (Jan 14th) to score this deal. Book here.
- St. Maarten/St. Martin for a Steal: One of our favorite island getaways is Saba, reachable by ferry from St. Maarten - and flights to this island are only $374 with JetBlue this winter. Travel before March 24th to get this deal, and hurry and purchase tickets as seats are selling out at this low price. Getting to paradise doesn't get much cheaper.
Europe
- London for Less: Flights to London's Heathrow airport on one of our favorite airlines ever - Virgin-Atlantic - are as low as $575, for travel between March 19th and May 15th. The Sale ends January 28th. Book with Virgin here.
- Spend Next Week - in Belgium: American Airlines has last minute flights to Belgium for next week and weekend for $663. Depart between the 19th and 22nd, return between the 25th and 27th, and have lots of chocolates in between. Book here.
Asia
- Hong Kong in Style: Cathay Pacific, one of the nicest airlines out there, has tons of flights to Hong Kong in April for $888, a competitive rate for springtime travel on a fancy airline. Book your tickets directly with them.
- Bangkok for under $1,000: (via Airfare Watchdog) Thailand is a wonderful place to be in late winter. To get there, fly Air China (with one stopover; there are no direct flights to Bangkok from New York) for just $950 for multiple dates in March. Book with Kayak and choose "flexible dates."
