A truly 24-hour city that will impress even the most been-there-done-that New Yorker, Tokyo always has somewhere for you to eat, drink, dance and yes, sing Karaoke, regardless of the time of day. And no matter how many times you've seen Lost in Translation, you'll never know Tokyo or have any real idea of what to expect until you've actually visited. And even then, this massive metropolis has so many sides, it's difficult to truly explore it all in one trip - or ten.

Overall travel tip: Give yourself at least one day in a new city that involves you walking out the door with the goal of using your own two feet to get around, but otherwise, no real agenda. It's the best way of getting to know a place and its locals. 

Any travel quirks? Even though I'm a professional baker, I actually love airplane food! 

One thing you do on every trip: My exploration of any destination usually revolves around local fresh produce markets. I love to experience and savor even the slightest taste in differences of the most common fruits - like a NYC orange, pear, apple, and grape versus the ones in Sevilla, Spain. I receive a great joy in seeing, smelling and tasting anything that inspires me to bake...
